DAIRYMEN’S ASSOCIATION FORMED, Fully one hundred farmers and others were present at Centreville Ha!! on Friday evening Yo listen to the Jecture delivered by Professor Shuttleworth, under ths aus- pices of the Western Agricultural Associa- tion. Among those present we noticed the Hon, Alex. Laird, Alfred Schurman, Alex. Andereda, Peter McRae, T. Robins, Nel son Inman, Rev. Mr. Cahill, Major Wright, Coin Weight, Mr. Moutgomeary, J Craw*erd, and A M. Wright, D. Ross, ALT Wright and Major Craig.
The President, Mr. D. 5 Wright, opened the meeting by a short address, and ex- pressed the opinion that the time has arriv. ed when it is necessary for farmers to adopt some vew methods of farming to reclaim the exhausted condition of the auil and im- prove our changed circumstances. He w:]- e med Professor Shuttleworth and introduc- ei him to the meeting.
The Professor, on coming forward, ox- pressed the pleasure it afforded him in meeting such a large and infi uential gathering of farmers, and to see the in- terest they manifest in these lectures. He referred the useful organization of

spyke of the advantages that must accrue to this Province by the instruction now given at the Prince of Wales Culleze on Agricultural Science. The pupils take a lively interest in the lectures, and show great aptitude in learning. Many of them are traming for teachers, and will shortly be ina position to impart the knowledge they are now acquiring to others in the schools ‘hroughout the country.

A dizussion on the lecture followed, which ws participated in by Alex. Laird, Joseph fohurman, Albert Schurman, Wolin Wright. Alex. Anderson, D. S. Wright, Rev. M. Cahill, Messrs. Montgomery,
Fowler ad others.
Mr. Aex. Laird commended the lecturer on his address. He would like to get further oformation regarding the use of mussel-nid, and elicited discussion on the subject. He did not concur with the lecturer 9 regard to the adaptation of our soil and dmate to carry on dairying success- fully. ‘he pasturage season is, he thought, too shor Cattle require be fed too long, nearly te months of the year. The following resolution was moved by Professor Shuttleworth, seconded by Thomas Robins, and carried unanimously :
Resolved, That in the opinion of this meet- ing it will be to the interest of the farmers of this Province to have organized a Provincial Dairymen’s Assoeiation to meet at central places once or twice yearly, and that in view
that a committee of five, consisting of the President and Secretary und three others be nominated and asked to draw up a constitu. tion to be submitted at the first regular meet- ing to be held in Charlottetown at an early ‘date, decided upon by the members of the said committee.
On motion F T. Newbery was unanimous- ly elected President, pro tem; Professor Shuttlewerth, Secretary, and the following committee: D. S. Wright, Searitown ; Jas. D. Dewar, Brudencll; and the President of the Cornwall Cheese Factory.
A vote of thanks was tendered to Profes- sor Shuttleworth at the cluse of the meet- ing—moved by Hon. Alex Laird and se- conded by Mr. Nelson Inman, in a com- plimentary speech by the mover.

Hand Crvusnzp.—The Farmer saye° Miss Zulieka McArthur, daughter of Mr. Newton McArthur, Margate, met with a seriuus accident in Boston a short time ago. She was employed in a laundry there and accidently got her left hand drawn in between the rollers orfe of which was hot. Only that she caught her wrist with the other hand her arm would also have been drawn in. One side of the hand was so hadly burned as well as crushed, that it had to be amputated at the wrist.
