CONCERT IN THE LYCEUM.
The concert in the Lyceum Theatre on Wednesday evening was a decided success, and the promoters as well as the perform- ers are receiving the congratulations of their friends. The programme, as_ pub- lished, was carried out faithful'y and well, and despite the note to the contrary on the foot of the list of items nearly every one who took part wasencored. Vocal sclo« were given by Mrs James Byrne, Miss Emma Benoit, Mr McLaughlin, Mr C Roy, Mr Leslie Cook and Mr Eugeve Brown. The Misses Butler coutributed a duet; and there were two quartettes, the firet by the Misses Smith and Beacit and Messrs Maloney and
Cook, and the second by Messrs McInnis, Brown, Hennessey and McLeod. There was also oa
chorus by St. Dunstan’s Glee Club, and another by a number of yo: og ladies from the convent. Readings were given by Miss Bessie Burke, Major Weeks and Mr. T. A. McLean. The Misses Murphy gave an instrumental duet, and made their second appearasce later on assisted on the piano by Miss May Carroll. Mr. Major Gal- braith played a cornet solo,and the League of the Cross Band gave the opening se'ec- tion. The stage was prett ly decorated. During the intermission candy was sold, The proceeds went towards the senior class of the Convent de Notre Dame. The re- ceipt were in the neighborhood of $90. rhe piano used on the occasion was kind- ly loaned by Mr W J O'Reilly.

ConFIRMATION aT GEORGETOWN.—ALt the Church of Holv Trinity, Georgetowa, last evening, His Lordship Bishop Courtney administered the rite of confirmation to fourteen candidates. There was a large congregation present. His Lordship was assisted by the rector of the parish, Rev. J. Godfrey and Rev. W. J. Cox, was the Bishop’s chaplain. An eloquent address was delivered by the Bishop. Rev. Mr. Godfrey will to-day be inducted into the charge of the parish.
