Drowxep.—At Sunken Lake, Gasperesux Mountain, Nova Scotia, on Wednesday last, Willam Spinney and John Irwin, two boys, aged 12 ant 13 years, were drowned. Spiv- nev went skating and got into a hole Irwin, who was a spleodid swimmer and had no fear of the water, went to the rescae. Both were drowned. Their bodies were found on Christ- mas Morning.

A Cyrisrmas Trex and Bazaar in aid of the Convent de Notre Dame, Summerside, was last evening commenced in the new con- vent. The attendance was large, the tables were well supplied with useful and fancy articles, and Summerside Cornet Band dis- coursed sweet music during the evening.
