The trial of the authors of the riots in Montceauless mines has been postponed until the next session of the court, owing t+ numerous attempts to intimidate the jury. Itis reported the police discovered proofs of the existence of an international association for the destruction of property. Headquarters are supposed to be at Geneva. Among the documents seized are letters showing that correspondence has been pro- ceeding between French members of this association and the directing committee in Switzerland, which comprises several pro- minent Nihilists.

Letters from Khartoum show that the Ezyptian rule in southern Provinces, has received a disastrous, if not crushing, blow There are incessant complaints in regard to the treatment of the families of rebel prisoners by the Khedive’s employees. Arabi Pacha’s family have shifted their residence in order to avoid violence. Arabi has again been insulted by hia Cir- cassian guard.
Two notables, who are accused of aiding Arabi with money, are chained together in an underground dungeon foul beyond description.
Among the correspondence of Arabi Pacha is an important letter from an aide- de camp of the Sultan, and several letters from Ahmed Essad, the Sheikh ul Asim. Broadley, Arabi's counsel, states that the letters will throw light upon the numerous telegrams found at [el el Kebir.
A native at Toutah has given a banquet at which prominent natives and Europeans, Sheikhs and Ulemas were present. One of the Ulemas in a speech eulogized the Khedive.

He gives a graphic account of- ‘he condition of his prisovers at Cairo, Thumb screws were put on him during the journey from Cairo to Alexandria.
