Bravin a downpour of rain, one of the argest audiences evcr to flil the Holy Name Hull. witnessed the 1940 edition 01 “The Merry Minstrels" dust night. The Sta. Dun- stans Basilica Guild of Charlotte- town Jaresented the show which was stage under the auspices of the Knights of Columbus Army and Navy Hut Fund.

The show was built: around the four black faced comedians pltvcd by Billy Morgan, Frank Brad cy, J. Austin 'I‘raincr and Clarence Howalt. who kept the lar e crowd in peEi-ls of laughter wit their humorous jokes. The majority of the performers consisted of the Ci""a most talented young men and v _.:*n, who staged a mlnstrel show which would do Justice to many larger cities.

The Merry Minstrels Orchestra supplied the music for the evening and from the opening fan fare to the closing grand finale every number went over with a bang. Every performer was cncorcd by the incessant applause of the aud- ience. i

The Presentation was under the distinguished patronage of Lieut. Commander J. J. Connolly, C. 0., R.C.N.V.R. and Mater G. G. K. Penke, O.C., 8th, Med. Bty., RCA" C.A.S.'F‘.
