The man had acompanion with him, On Saturday, the stranger, who is described as a tman thirty five years of age, with a pale complexion, light moustache and dressed in a pepper-and-salt tweed suit and soft felt hat without an overcoat, hired a boat about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. His companions were of the same age, each having black whiskers and moustache, bleck overcoat and trousers, one wearing a tall hat, and the other a low one. They had with them a_ parcel about nine inches square, which they handled carefully. The boat keeper says he is able to swear positively in regard to the sup- posed foreigner, but is uncertain whether he can recognize the other. An examina- tion of the boat guard resulted in the dis- covery of what is supposed to be a cartridge. It is painted red at one end, and is an inch and a half long, and of the thickness of a man’s forefinger. One stone in the second arch of fLondon Bridge, just above low water line, has thirteen cracks, resembling precisely those in a plate glass window.

An Editor Assaulted.
