general meeting but wants a bilateral conference first. The .Chinese invited him to come ito Peking if he wants to talk to Mao Tse'tung.

In his reply, Khrushchev de- clined the Chinese invitation but invited Mao to Moscow for a summit meeting this spring or summer.

There was no immediate re- jection from Peking.
