Of the twenty-one sealing steamships now out on} the northeast coasts of Newfoundland and | Labrador engaged in seal fishing the **Nep- | tune’ is the only one not reported empty. She scores barely one thousand old pelts, The “Thetis” has been considerably dam aged by the ice and has had her stem car ried away. The current Newfoundland seal | fishery will vrove one of the most disastrous | on record. The aggregate catch will not | exceed one-third of the results of a good | year’s operations on the old fields.
