AVC EXPANDS ITS MANDATE

Here we are, another semester at ool started. For many people, this means other year of studying and running back me to friends and family for weekend t. Last year, I made a weekend trip from I to Sackville (Mount Allison) about ry second weekend. Each time, there s at least one other person making the ct same trip, catching the 12:30 (12:00 pr the ferries went to their winter sched- ) bus. This bus would land us in kville at about 7pm. This year, I have made one trip so and there was no one else with me. This 5 surprising, 1 was expecting homesick- to hit about last weekend when I went. on found, to my dismay, that there was a »d reason there wasn’t anyone else ing this trip, The bus schedule had been ged since last year, making it that the 30 bus won’t deliver one to Sackville il about 9:00pm. This was because there almost four hour wait in Moncton with ost nothing to do. I assume that every- e either didn’t think it was worth it, had a pick them up, or just took the 7:45 am and skipped their morning classes. To pass my time in Moncton, I uired into the schedule change, and if re was any way to have it changed. arently, they are making a new schedule come active in October, and they will come suggestions. So, I am here to try to get word to all se people who also travelled to Sackville last year, and wish to do so this year. CAN have the schedule changed if we ak up. If you have suggestions for the schedule, or just feel that we need er (faster) service, you can mail or ne in your feelings. My suggestion is this: presently, the s from PEI arrives in Moncton at 4:30pm.

The first departure of any connection from Moncton is not until 5:50pm. That is one hour and twenty minutes of sitting around doing not too much. There is enough time there for the bus to take a different route,

to Moncton. This would get us to Sackville ® around 4:00-4:15, rather than 9:00pm. Not only is this a lot easier for us, it is actually less work for the bus people because they don’t have to play with our baggage in Moncton. Incidentally, the 7:45am bus already takes the Sackville route to catch a train connection. It wouldn’t be much e trouble for them to make this change. If ¢ they could also do the same for the return e trip, it would again mean less work for them ; and less time being bored in a waiting room e for us :

c) One or more of the follow- ing sanctions may be imposed, depend- ing on the seriousness of the offence:
