For the people of Canada there is good reason indeed for humility and gratitude, and for the people of Prince Edward Is- land especially, the spirit of thanksgiving is most appropriate. While the turnip crop has been adversely affected, the potato yield is reportedly better than was antici- pated some weeks ago and in other Farm activities, notably grain pl-oduceiszl, and in livestock of" all kinds, the year has been one of bountiful returns.

We do not really know what a poor harvest means in this Province. It is only when we relate our physical well-being t;. that of hundreds of millions on the edge of destitution throughout the world that we get the true picture, and realize how far beyond our deserts have been the bles- sings we enjoy. '
