The Roumelian Government Deposed.
New York, Sept. 18.—The English ent- ter Genesta retrieved herself in winning the regatta given under the auspices of the New York Yacht Club near Sandy Hook to-day as it was the annual race of the club. The prizes consisted of two cups—one given by Commodore Jame: Gordon Bennett, for schooners, and the other by Vice-Commodore Douglas, for cutters or sloops. There were ten entries, as follows : Schooners— Fortuna, Grayling and Dauntless. Cuttere—Gen- esta, Lleen, Stranger, C'ara and _ Isis. Centre-board Sloops—Gracie, Athlon and Daphne.
‘The day opened bright and clear with a stiff breeze from the southwest. The course was a triangular ron of 35 miles from an imaginary line drawn between Scotland lightship and the judge's boat, which was the tng Luckenbach. The course was as follows : first leg east by north ; second leg southwest by west three quarters north- west, and third leg to starting point. The first two legs have 13} miles each and the third 8} miles. Shortly before 11 o'clock the tug whistled for preparation and a few minutes later

The populace of Phillippolis, the capital of Eastern Roumelia, almost to a man rose in rebellion yesterday. They seized the Governor General and deposed the Govern- ment, and proclaimed a union with Bul. garia, and established a provisional govern- ment. The revolt was so well planned that no disorder or bloodshed occurred, everybody being in sympathy with the movement except the government officials. It is generally believed in diplowatic circles that Russia arranged the programme of the uprising, and suggested the union with Bulgaria.
