Also, the report itself stands. The report recommends a number 0f retirements and dis‘ miasals In the service, and these will he carried out by order-in-Coun- cil when the new Government has its machinery working smoothly. The Stevens amendment is a coat of many colors. ilt started out as little more than a. condemnation of Hon. George ‘H. Boivln and the King Government. The late Prime Min inter. to gain tactical advantage, ac- cepted tho Fansher sub-amendment calling for a judicsl inquiry, and that was added to the Stevens amendment by unanimous vole of the House. Then the Garland sub amendment declaring that the judi- clal commission must be appointed by the judges of the Exchequer Court was added with the consent of the new Conservative Govern- ment and the much-amended Stev- ens amendment was then tacked on to the report.

.The situation now is that the new Govemment will issue an order-in Council giving the necessary in- formation and instructions to the Exchequer Court.
