Victius or Locxsaw.—William Jordaa, a young lad, died at Toronto a few nights ago from lockjaw. A week previously

the lad ran a rusty nail into his knee, At Kingston, Ont., recently Adam Ray Coulter, aged nineteen, died receatly from the same trouble. Mr. Coulter was in the barn and falling cut his cheek in front of bis ear. He remained unconsious for a time and under medical treatment grew better. On the seventh day, however, lockjaw set in and in four days iater he died in great agony.

The ochre deposits in New South Wales are of enormous extent, there being mil- lions of tons in the Dubbo, Mudgee, Orange, and other western portions of the colony, but the supply is so largely in excess of the demand that the deposits are at present commercially valueless.
