-The December meeting of the Crapaud Women's Institute was held in the Institute Room. with the new preside t. Mrs. Heber Mc- Vittie, in the c lr. The annual
3-report was presented, showing 38
paid-up inembers for the ensuing year. It also showed 3163 paid to the school. 3180 to the Public Lib- rary. and 3125 for repairs on the
hall piano, as the largest items of
expense. . "rho school was redecorated by the Institute in pleasing ' , with donations given for Christ- mas treats and prises. also other items supplied as requested by the teachers. Next year, the school committee is to be taken from the roll call so that all members may have an opportunity to visit the school. The adult sewing class. organized in this Institute, was discussed and plans made for Achievement Day to be held in Crapaud at the end of the course.
This Institute also sponsored the Dental Clinic during the year.
The 25th anniversary of this In- stitute is to -be celebrated with a dinner in March. The Institute looks forward to another success- ful year.
SOUTH GRANVILLE W. I.
The Decembe meeting of south Granville Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Peter Morrison on Wednesday evening. December 3rd.
Miss Alexandra Keir, president, took charge of the meeting. which opened by singing the women's Institute Carol, followed by Creed. Roll call was responded to by thir- teen members and on'e visitor, at which time the members exchang- ed Christmas gifts.
Minutes of the last meeting were read, approved and signed. The financial statement regarding the bazaar held in November showed actual proceeds to be 385.85.
Committees gave reports; no re- quisites for school this month, and also no sick. Bills were then on motion paid to Miss Ena Morrison. who procured a new bell for the school, to Mrs. Chappelle for dust- bane bought for school, and to Mrs. S. Corbett for Guardian ad
New committees appointed are as follows: School, Mrs. Abbott and Miss Annabel Keir; sick, Miss Alexandra Keir and Mrs. Mclnnis; lunch, to assist hostess, Mrs. Mc- Innis and Miss Annabel Keir. The next meeting is to be at the home of Mrs. Stirling Corbett when roll call will be "A Scotch Joke".
Correspondence was read by the secretary: two treats given by Women's Institute were gratefully acknowledged; 35 was voted to- wards Christmas Seals Campaign. also 35 to treat children in the district at Christmas.
Two contests, "Counting Beans" and "An Advertisement Quiz", put on by the Misses Georgie Somers and ,Ena Morrison respectively, were won by Mrs. Louis Corbett and Mrs. Wellington Mclnnls.
Collection for the evening was 65 cents. The president adjourned the meeting with the "Island Hymn", following which the host- ess and committee in charge serv- ed delicious ieireshme ts.

Womcnls Institute Meetings"
Preston Cudmore thanked the members for fruit and gift she received. A gift of 31.00 was re- ceived from a former member who moved from the district. The sum of 328.43 was received from a pantry sale held recently.
It was moved and seconded to give the teacher 35.00 to get treat for the children at Christmas. Bills were presented and paid. Mrs. Claude Craswell was ap- pointed Red Cross convener for the coming year. The school com- mittee reported jacket needed for the stove. It was decided to hold a weighing party and auction sale in the near future. the program to be in charge of Mrs. Alton Younker. Miss Reta MacNeil, Mrs James CudmoreT and Mrs. Pres- ton Cudmore. Collection for the evening amounted to 3i.i0.

The members of the Riverview
Institute, Hunter River, met at the home of Mrs. George Smith for their December meeting.
The president, Mrs. C.I-3. Math- eson presided. and the meeting opened by singing the Ode and repeating the Creed in unison. The roll call was answered and the minutes were approved as read. Reports of committees were heard and new ones appointed were: School, Mrs. J. L. LePage and Mrs Dan MacLeod; sick, Mrs. Roddie Ford -and Mrs. Stead; entertain- ment. Mrs. Miil'ClilSOil and Mrs. E. A. Bernard: lunch, Mrs. Mathcson, Mrs. MacKinnon, Mrs. Murchison and Mrs. Geo. Smith.
It was moved and seconded to send five dollars to the T. B. League, also that a bill for shrubs for the library be paid.
The shut-in, boxes are to be pre- pared by Mrs. Spence, Mrs. Ford Mrs. Stead and Mrs. I-iasium, also a parcel to be packed for overseas
The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. I-Iaslam when the roll call will be answered by a New Years resolution. The ex- change oi Christmas gifts was greatly enjoyed.

The regular monthly meeting of Suffolk Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Oiman Mel- lick on December 3rd. with the president, Mrs. Charles Reid in the chair.
The meeting opened by singing "Jingle Bells". followed by repeat- ing the Institute Creed in unison. Roll call was answered by ten members and two visitors, by an exchange of Christmas gifts.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and adopted. Correspondence was read and dis- cussed. The sick committee, which reported no calls made, was re- appointed. The drawing ior the lottery of chocolates was made by Mrs. George Rattray. Mlllcove, Mrs. Albert Templer winning the two-pound box and Mr. Terence Lamphier, Pleasant Grove.winning the one-pound box. Proceeds re- alized were 59.50.

on Monday evening. December 1st,. the monthly meeting of the Clyde River W. I. was held at the home of Mrs. Frank Gillespie with the vice-president, Mrs. R.D. Math- cscn presiding. The meeting open- ed with the collect repeated in un- ison.
Roll call was answered by 15 members and several visitors, each telling a Joke. In the absence of the secretary for the first part of the meeting. Mrs. John Beer was asked to act. The minutes of the previous meeting were read, ap- proved and signed.
The treasurer then gave her re- port. The receipts were 3227.62 and expenditures 3107.06, leaving a bal- ance oi 3120.56 on hand. All cor- respondence received during the month was read. The treasurer. Mrs. John Darrsch. resigned. and votes were taken for this office. Mrs. Daniel Macfielll was voted in. Mrs. W.A. Macbean told that she had been unable to find a suitable play but would-continue to look for one. The secretary and treasurer

SPRINGFIELD W. I.
The December meeting of the Springiield Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Keith
teen members and two visitors. The meeting opened by singing "The First Noel" followed by the Creed. Roll call was answered by an exchange of Christmas gifts also passing in a gift for crippled children.
Mrs. Clarence I-Iaslam, Mrs Ivan Lambe and Mrs. Crawford Sinclair volunteered to purchase nnd pack treats for the school children and pre-school age chil- dren of the district, 315.00 being donated by the Institute for same.
It was moved and seconded that 35 be sent to the T. B. League. The various committees gave their reports and the following were ap- pointed: Program, Mrs. Crawford Sinclair and Mrs. Ernest Haslam; lunch, Mrs. Kcith Mayne. Mrs. Norris Sinclair and Mrs. Andrew Hughes.
It was moved and seconded that papers on interior decorating be sent for, also one on ”Womenls life in other countries of the A.C. W. W."
The president gave" a detailed report of the meeting held in Summerside for the presidents oi Institutes of Prince County.
It was decided that the Institute would sponsor a welcome to the new Canadians in the district.
An interesting feature of the meeting was the opening and dis- trlbuting of gifts received from the adopted Institute in England. A discussion followed concerning sending a parcel to their Institute and it was decided to send 20 pounds of meat and also for each member to send a personal gift.
Mrs. Crawford Sinclair is to be hostess for the new meeting, roll call to be answered by "What I look forward to in the New Year".
The meeting closed by singing "Silent Night", the president Iirst explaining the origin of this hymn. The hostess assisted by the com- mittee in charge served a delicious lunch. Collection amounted to M35.

The monthly meeting of Spring Brook Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Elmer Payn- ter on Tuesday evening, December 9. The president opened the meet- ing by ha”ving the "Collect" re- peated in unison. Eight members answered roll call with the ex- change of Christmas gifts. There were also four visitors present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read, approved and signed. Busi- ness arising out of the minutes was dealt with-. Tickets are to be drawn for the box of groceries. Correspondence was then read, and discussion took place on same. The canvass of the district for the Protestant Orphanage b r o u g ht 314.00. It was decided to treat the school children at Christmas, also the shut-ins in the district and the boys who are overseas, and to send treat to one who is in the Sanatorlum. .
