«Thos. H. Cummi-key,” to the effect that Mr. Jobn T. Garland and Mr. Maurice O’Connell, of Pond Settlement, marched

on the annual meeting at Gleniinnan school and by their conduct thereat Lroke I also noticed the certi- fie | letter cf Alexander McDonald that the school rates in the old district were all pail long ago. I consider a brief explana- tion necessary. The meeting was called ‘to order and a chairman appointed. Then | the party in favor of the remova) of the scho olbous se p rroceeded to elect a trustee A ratepaver called for the accounts af the district, which were always disposed of first. At such meeting Mr. Alexander said the business was all right, the rates of th: se present were all paid, He said there were two not paid, but they belonged to Tarentum Road and districts. They next objected to a ratepayer’s right to vote. He then offered to take the dec! aration in the School Act. They would not consent to this. Then when they could not have eyerything their own way, the chairman left the chair and the meeting broke up. Mr. Garland and Mr, O’Connell did not arrive wntil the meeting was nearly over. and Mr. Garland simply asserted his right to vote under the school law.
