One day. shortly after Coving- tonls recall from the Wichita fann club. Red Schoendienst and Paul Waner, the Braves' batting coach. were talking about the import- ance of wrist action to hitters. As the two talked. Schoendienst dem- onntrated the points by gripping a ba'.
