Hon. Donald Smith, has presented Sir William Dawson. principal of McGill Uni- versity, with $50,000 to endow a ladies’ ‘college in affiliation with that seat of learn- ing. This is the second endowment of like sum presented to the university within a short time, the former being for a chair in the medical facnlty.
