C Clark of Bay View presided and led a devotional service of prayer and song which was participated in voluntarily by the sisters. Mrs, Joseph Streth gave a brief address of welcome to the sister societies, after which crisp re- porta were read from societies at Alexan- dra, East Point,,Montague, Dundas, Tryon, Summerside, Springfield, Bedeque, St. Peter’s Road, Cavendish,Knutsford, Char- lottetown, North River, Long Creek, Bon- shaw and others. This, one of the last verses ever written by Robert Louis Stevenson, is in reference to the portrait of himself, which is given to the public with his verse for the first time} in the July Cosmopolitan. might have come from the pen of Burns, and are inimitable in their way. The portrait was declared by Stevenson himself to be the best ever painted of him.
