The work of placing a man-hole in the pavement opposite H. L MacGregor's store has been com- pleted under the direction of Mr.

Henry Munroe and Mr. Thomas Clair. An eighteen-inch pipe line connects the man-hole to the

main culvert. which it is cxpected will carry off the main deposit of water which collects in that particular location. and which has been an annoyance to both pedes- trians and motorists alike for the past several years.

Mr. l-lewson Kydd. who has been employed at the Canadian Bank of Commerce, Montague. for the past several years, has been transferred to the Branch in Charlottetown. Mr. Kydd will leave Montague in a short iimc followed later by Mrs. Kydd and children. who will reside in Mon- tague uptil a residence in char- lottetown has been obtained.

The regular meeting of the Young Women's Guild of the Presbyterian Church.. Montague. was held in the church vestry on Monday, evening. The president, Mrs. Percy Myers. presided. The meeting opened, with the hymn, "This is My Father's World". fol- lowed by the scripture read by Mrs. Wellington Campbell and prayer by Mrs. Myers. The min- utes of the las; meeting were read and approved. followed by roll call which was answered by eight members. Mrs. Campbell present- ed the report of the visiting com- mittee. Mrs. Leonard Giilis and Mrs. Campbell were appointed on the visiting committee for June. Following the business period, the meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Lunch was served by Mrs. Leonard Glllls and Miss Sue Hemphill.
