The death of Mr. Benjamin Beck took place on Nov. 23rd, 1932. at‘ Charlottetown. The deceased had been in ill health for some months, suffering much, and had left his home at white Sands about a week before hi5 death. At the hospital hc appeared to be iniplflll‘ ing, but during the last day vhe sank rapidly and passed away l" the evening from pneumonia» He was sixty years of age.

E. I., daughter of the latc Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Dinnis, was united in marriage with Mr. E. C. Carr, son of the late Mr. and Mrs, G. W. Carr, of North Eleanors P. E. I. The ceremony was perioinred by Rev. W. E. Johnson. in the pres- ence of a few intimate friends. Af- ter the cercmony Mr. and Mrs. Carr left for a short honeymoon trip. 0n their return they will re- side at Nanton, Alberta.

Word has reccuiiy been received from California of the death of Mal- colm Martin who died there after an illness of one day. He was sixty seven year; of agc. He was a bro- ther Oi Mr. Martin Martin of Southport and the late m. Angus E. Martin oi Mt. Buchanan. The same dispatch contained the news of the death oi h's sister Kate Anh who died from thc result of an accident. She was a widowed lady and the writer has not her correct name at the time oi writing. News has also been received by friends here of the death in Chicago of Capt. Donald MacRae. In early life he was a sea captain and in later years was employed by. the Edson Electric 00.. in Chicago. The late Capt. Maciftae was born at Ponds. Pinneic. about eighty years ago. He was one oi the successful Islanders abroad in every sense of the word but there was no place he liked better to spend his vacation than at his old home on P. E. I. and al- ways did so while his health al- lowed him. He had an unusually pleasing personality and neghbors and fiends always benefited by his visits. His wife predeceased him some years ago. He is survived by one daughter Dr. Florence who practices medicine in Chicago ‘and several sisters and brothers to whom sympathy is expressed at the present. Mr. Alex D. Friends in the city have learned with regret of the death of Colonel J. D. Irving of Annan, Dumffles‘ Scotland, who was a former resi. dent of this city. District Officer Commanding in Prncc Edward Isl- and and a president of the Cale- donian Club. colonel Irving passed away on St. Andrew's Night, Nov. 30. On this anniversary in 10mm- years the Colonel was wont to Send 81191-11185 to the local Cale- donian Club. But this year the mas- sage failed to come. With the ar- rival of the report oi hb death the reason has become known.
