In the same period, there has been an increase of 85% in spend- ing on administration at UPEI. What are the spending priorities at UPEI ?

¢St Thomas University has the lowest tuition ($3695), yet the highest salaries in the region. How are they doing it ?

The starting salary for a new faculty member (Step 1 on the Assistant Professor salary grid) at UPEI is currently $41,000. Professors have completed 20-23 years of education (more than most engineers, lawyers, accountants, dentists, and even many medical doctors).

We do not want to strike. We understand student anxiety at this difficult time. You may be reassured to know that a faculty strike in Canada has never resulted in the loss of a semester. Your professors and librarians will do everything they can to ensure that students are not penalized because of our labour negotiations.
