There has been sone talk around canpus as well as mum talk at Cbnmcil and in the mpaperof the role of a miVersrtyi‘educatim in our lives and role we the students play in- the miVérsity. While I'm to be writing about sports in this colum,and I feel that sports play a very lag and integral role in our halcyrn days here at UPEI, it's also inportant that we pay sore attentim to the exercise of our minds. with this in mind, the coming Syrposium on the role of a Liberal Arts educattui Okra 6 & 7) provides an excellent chance for everyone to open their minds for a day. By everyone I c'bn't nean only the infamous minority, the Artsies of campus, but also the Jod<s, Business students, Hone Ec., Engineers or Professional Faculties, shall we say. On personal experience those who succeed in any endeavour are those who become involved in all facets of it. a

Our university life is made up of*stucﬁes,' partying, sports, drirﬂcing, but most inportantly socializing, whether this be in the form of discussing baseball over a beer, the co-ed in a roan in Bernadine or Philosophy in the the important part is our interaction with each other. The PEI Council of Women is offering a bursary at the University of Prince Edward Island.

The terms of this bursary are as follows:

This award will be made annually on the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee in consultation with the Dean of women.to v a student of mature years, female, full-time in any year.

Application forms are available at the Registrar's Office. The deadline for applications is Friday, 12 October and the announcement of the winner should be made by the end of October.
