Mr. White's intention was to have sown this field with turnips, but conceiving that the ploughing up such blades of wheat as presented them-~ selves would be a species of destruction, be determined to risk the matter, and the result is a crop ofwbcat such as has not its parallel in the parish, some of the ears being nearly a quarter ofa yard in length. The moat respectable judges calculate there will be from 25 to 30 bushels per acre, and curiosity leads numbers to the spot to view it.
