The question of fodder cheese was con~ sidered ata meeting of the Butfer and Cheese Association held a f-w days ago, and after some strong speeches urcing that producers weuld be exterdmely foolish to make any this spring the following resolu- tion was unanimously adopted :

Whereas the price of finest cheese today is Jower than it hae been at this period of the year for the pasttwenty seasons, the market beiag in @ most stagnant state, the supply exceeding the demand; therefore it would appear that there is an over-pro- duction of this article, and

Whereas it ie a fact that the consump- tion of chees*, does not relatively increase with the gain in population in the same ratio as butter, and

Whereas the butter market today in Can- ada, the United States, England and other countries is in a most heaithy position, at relatively much higher prices than cheese, and

Whereas, the nake of fodder cheese is at all times very hurtful, tending to de- press the market, its inferior quality res. tricting the consumption thus demaging the chanees of the fine qualities of full grass cheese,which is made in large quantities,

Therefore, be it resolved, in view of these facts that in the wisdom and obinien of this association no hay or fodder cheese shoul! be made this spring, and that far- mere should consider well the advisapility of increasing the make of butter and limiting the production of cheese, during the ensuing and following seasons.
