Mostreat, Dec. 13.—Three bye-elec- tions took place yesterday in the province of Quebec, forthe Provincial legislature. Al! three were carried by the Liberals.

Tarte candidates were elected in Yamaska and Levis, where the result turned princ'pally on the bonusing of the South Shore railway which was opposed by Tarte as the projected railway would parallel the Drummond Cousty Railway. In Bonaventure, the regular Liberal candi- date who was formally endorsed by Sir Wilfrid Laurier, was defeated by an Inde pendent Liberal.
