Taking it a:together, the show of fruits is one that the Province may well be proud of in the present condition of fruit giowing, the farmers having much to learn or in the cane, cultivation and selection of varieties suited to the soil and climate. This is a subject that should engage the atteation of the Loeal Government, Experimental Fruit Farm, where all the hardy varieties of fruits should be treated and reported upon, would be of the greatest benefit to the whole agricultural community.

Reply to Naomi.
Dear Sir,—There appeared in the Guardian of Oct. 5th inst. a letter signed by one Naomi, yet by the gender of the name we are led to think that it was some | female who wrote the communication. But | the fact that it abvuuads with inaccuracies | and misstatements make it hard for us to | believe it was a lady who wrote it. She | has stated that she was on board of the| Heather Belle, and that when the steamer / ran ashore she felt very much embarrassed | because her presence and musical abilities | were required at the conceit. Now, as’ there was not a passenger on the steamer) to take any part at the concert, we fail to! understand the cause of her uneasiness, | and her remarks about the bandsmen are | still more inexplicable, as she accuses them of disturbing her slumbers at 12 p. m. Now this was impossible, as the instruments were left at Mr. Forbes’ house at 10.30 p. m. and remained there until 8. a. m. next morning, and as the bandsmen were a half) a mile away from them it was impossible\ f rthe men to use them,ffand if there was! music wafied on the autumn air as Naomi seems to think, it must have been by some other than a bandsman, or, perhaps, it can be better attributed to a hallucination of Naomi’s senses. She aiso affirms that she was entertained at the same house as the band. Here she has agaiu overdone it, for | there were none of the ladies staying at the same houses as the bandsmen; and consid- | ering all these erroneous and misleading | statements of Naomi’s as the conjurings of | a@ fruitful imagination, | «ill di- pense with | this subject.
