-A most delightful and hilar- ious evening was enjoyed by the large crowd. who attended the Variety Concert held In Grand Riv- er Parish Hall on March 17, in honor of St. Patrick.
The concert was capsbly direct- rd by Mr. Harold McIntyre who welcomed thecrowd. Father Pius Mnrnaghan, parish priest. said he was glad to see such a large crowd and hoped all would enjoy their rvciiiiig.
The participants of the concert consist-ri of some adults and the children of three surrounding school districts, Cross Rivers. Ar- luigtoii and Boyside. all pitching ill and doing their parts admir- ztbly. considering the short time they had to prepare it. Much credit is due to the school-teachers.

--The W. M. 3. Auxiliary of the Freetown Presbyterian Church met March 3 at the home of Mrs. George and Mrs. Robert Jardlne. with Mrs. Donald Bernard presiding. Despite bad travelling conditions. the meeting was well attended. The call to worship was conducted by the president. Fol- lowed with prayer by Mrs. Ray Lidstone. The theme was "In due time Christ died for the ungodly". Scripture lesson was read from Romans 5. 5:11. Expositions on the lesson were given by several members. A special collection is to be taken at the next meetlnz. to be sent to the Maritime Home for Girls at Truro. The program consisted of a Bible quiz. Home Mission News. and a Bible exer- cise, entitled "scripture Challenges Our Excuses", The president read the several excuses and each member read a portion of Scrip- ture challenging them. The meet- ing closed with a hymn and re- peating the Lord's Prayer in un- ison. Lunch was served by the hos- tesses and Committee in charge.
