Powell, a l'iirmei- who resides at Grand Island Ranch, below Cultist, who was one of the passengers, furnishes us with the subjoined particulars: He states, that at the moment of the explo- sion, he was Ieavin the Ladies’ cabin, and when the scci cnt occurred, he was completely stunned for the moment, but immediately therealter recovered. On looking about him, he first saw it child, badly hurt, and also a number of persons ﬂoating down the river.

The steamer General Redington was on her downward trip, and reached the scene of the ‘accident at 8 o'clock. The gtegmer immediately took oli‘ the survivors from the wreck. The entire bout, with the exception of some forty feet of the after portion, sunk instantly, and the wreck, as our informant states, is more complete, than was that of the ill-fated Pearl.
