I would like to make .

a comment about that pre- mature attack on the Anne Magnum comic strip that is currently being run in the GEM. I feel an individ- ual should research before they conclude. I am the one who submitted Magnum P.E.I. into the GEM and I wish it be known that the so called racist artist who created it is indeed black himself. Now I cannot make snap judgements either, but, don’t you think it would be kind of stupid to say he was racist? I mean maybe he is, but what in the comic

strip’ said anything or sym- bolized anything to. say he was? I’m sure you can put your mind at rest and go cut down the work by other individuals, but I’m sure your comments would have much more meaning if you knew what you were talking about. I was not pleased at all when [I read in the paper that somebody was cutting up my good friend, when he isn’t even here to defend himself! I hope you feel rotten for immediately categorizing people as being racist.

SU should stick to policy

Dear Editor,

After reading about my-

self and what members of our University community felt towards me, with re- gards to the Hockey team not showing up at the Barn

after winning the AUAA, I felt it is now time to explain my side of the story.

After the incident Oc- tober 31, 1987 at the Barn, I was barred from

the premises until the end

of the academic year and put on residence probation. I have no qualms with the punishment handed down. However there seems to

made by some people that because I am involved with our varsity hockey team this should grant me special priv- ileges. I went about inquir- ing about gaining admission to the Barn in the event that we won the AUAA for one simple reason. THat being that I had nothing to lose by Lop oii

On Monday, March 7, 1988 I went down to the Barn to speak to Heather Hickey about any possibilities of en- tering their premises if we were to win against Monc- ton. The meeting lasted

I would like to thank Sandra Ramsey for her sup- ‘port and would like to make the following suggestion to Heather Hickey and Steven Wynne: If you are taking a stand on an issue then stick to that position. To Heather Hickey, do not tell a person something on Monday then behind closed doors change your mind. And to Steven Wynne do not pretend you are following a policy that cannot be amended for one situation but can be changed for another situation.

To address the matter brought up regarding why the rest of the team did not show up at the Barn. There are 25 individuals that make up our Varsity team. We have been to- gether a minimum of 2 or 3 hours a day since Septem- ber. We came back from our Christmas vacation two
