In spite of the inclement weath- er yesterday. large congregations were present at all of the special Easter services held in flsurches in Charlottetown. Crowds‘ turned out through the snow to worship on this special day. and Easter music was featured at all chur- ches. - ‘S Rev. Canon E. M. Malone of- ficiated at St. Peter’: Cathedral administering Holy Communion at '1 sad 8 ant. and Matlns at 9:30 am. Service at 11 consisted of Choral Euchar‘ t and sermon, and at 7 p.m. of Evensong. semen and Solemn Te Deum.

At St. Paul's Anglican Church Rev. J. T. lbbott administered Holy Communion at ll am. and also at the 11 o'clock service. Children's Lenten Service as held at 3 pm. and an lliagvter Carol Service was very well at- tended at 7 p.m.

Church School Easter service at 10 am. at the Kirk of St. James. was followed at 11 by the Easter morning worship. For this ser- vice. Rev. T. H. Bussell Sosners chose as his subject “Christ—King Ever Glorious". A Vesper cele- bration of the Holy Communion was administered at 5 pm.

At Trinity United Church Rev. H. E. D. Ashford and Rev. H. C. Rice officiated. The celcrbrs-tlon of Holy Communion was held'at 8:45 a.m.. followed by the Senior Church School at 10. Sermon chosen for the 11 o'clock service was “Divinity and Victory." and at ‘I p.m. “Endlc.ss".

The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was observed at the 11 o'clock service at Zion Presbyter- ian Church with. Rev. G. Carlyle Webster oliflciatlng. The theme chosen by Rev. Webster for the '7 o'clock service was “When Death is Gain."

- Al the Baptist Church. Rev. J. D. Davison chose as his sermon for the 11 o'clock service "Hope- lem end, or Endless hope?" At 12 o'clock an open session of the Church School was held to see the film “No Greater Power". and at 7 pm. worship was held by candle-light. Sermon for the evening service was “Despise no man. not even the rejected." Rev. M. D. Dunbar officiated at the special services held at Central Christian Church. Church School and Family Hour was held at 10 am. and Mr. Dunbar chose "The Rasurrectlcn Gospel" for his sermon at 11. ‘‘In Likeness of His Death" was the sermon given at 7 o'clock. and the Ordinance of Baptism was observed immediately following the close of the service. At the Salvation Army. Major and Mrs. E. Hutchinson led the meetings. Prayer Service was held at 9 a.m.. followed by March ‘of Witness at l0:30 and the Holiness Meeting at 11. Theme chosen for the 11 o'clock service was “He Is Risen." Sunday School and Bible Clam met at 2:30, the open air service at 6:30. and the Salvation Meeting at 7. for which ‘the sub- ject chosen was "How Do We Know?"

Avril I — (CP) -— The Saint John dredge Provincial No. 2 went adrift off the southwestern tip of Nova Sco- tia early Saturday but her four- man crew was rescued by a trawl- er and landed at Yaranouth Sat- urdy night. The dredge was last reported drltting about 80 miles south of Cape Sable. .

Lott helpless when strain caus- ed by a gale snapped her towline. the dredge had been under tow from Halifax to Saint John by the Saint John Tug Ocean Kiwi.
