Mink River Road Jotiings.
Mr. John Irving is busily engaged in building a large boat, and preparing for the lobster fishing—when the season comes areund.
Mr. Keenan, formerly of Murray River, but now in this vicinity, is doing a large business in boot and shoe making. e keeps one hand constantly employed, and says he cannot fill all the orders that he re- ceives.
The ratepayers of Mink River Road have decided to hold a meeting in the schoolhouse, on Saturday, 28th inst., for the purpose of changing the name of the said road, ss all the minke around this se tle- ment have disappeared, and it would be much better to have the name altered.
1 wish to call the attention of my fellow- ratepayers to make an united effort, at the| coming annual schvol meeting, Lo see about building « larger schoolhouse with two apartments in it, wherein the children of the district may receive a suitable educa- tion. At present in this growing settlement we have some fifty householders, with over ninety children. of a school age, and it is impossible for any teacher tc make scholars outof this ssid school, as our present teacher has between fifty and sixty of a daily average; whereas if we get the name ot the said road changed and a new school- house built, it would make 4 marked change in the place.
