OTTAWA. April 17 - (Special) --Fisheries Minister Mayhew said in the Commons this afternoon lhat his department Ls considering a resolution from the Prince Ed- ward Island Fisheries Federation seeking that the opening of the lobster season be advanced from May I this year to April 19. The statement was in reply to I ques- tion asked by W. Chester S. Mc- Lure. Progressive ConservItive member for Queen's.

Mr. Mayhew expected to give a definite answer to the question to- morrow or on Wednesday.

During the question period in the House of Commons. Mr. Mc- Lure asked Resources and De- velopment Minister Winters if he had received I petition from the residents of Crapaud and vicinity asking for consideration in the location of the Prince Edward Is- land section of the Tran:-Clnada highway. Mr. Winter'I reply was in the negative.

The death occurred suddenly It her home on Myrtle Street. Sum- iiicrside. about six o'clock last evening of Miss Georgie Green, she was 84 years of age.

Miss Green lived alone and was showing some prospective tenants through the house when she col- lapsed. A doctor was quickly sum- moned but she was dead when he arrived.

She was I daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Penn Green and was the last of a family of

four. A brother. Dr. Cecil Green of Montague died Ibout three years ago.

Mr. Maynard Lefurgey of Sum- merside is I first cousin. Miss Green was I popular person and was always welcome in many homes. She will be missed by many. Possessing the gift of wit. she had the ability to make people laugh and she had many friends.

A well known and highly esteemed Charlottetown citizen. Mr. William Morgan died yester- -day afternoon in the Charlottetown Hospital. Mr. Morgan hiid been ill for only I short time.

Born in Charlottetown where he lived throughout his life. Mr. Mor- gan entered the tailoring trade after attending Queen Square School. For the past number of years he had been associated with Mr. Louis Maclvlalion.

He was well known in musical and entertainment circles. playing ris an end map in Charlottetown Mnstrei Shows on many occas- ions. He was also a former mem- ber of both St. Dunstan's Basilica and Holy Redeemer Church choirs.

Surviving him is his wife. the former Irene Dougan of Charlotte- town. and a brother, James Mitr- gan in Boston.

One of the most valuable ship- ments of livestock purchased in this Province, comprising thirty- five head of standard bred Jersey cattle. will leave here on April 25th for the Sunny South.

The cattle have been purchased by Mr. L. C. Coleman. of Nuth- ville. Tennessee. through ,Mr. Harold Stead, of Brackley.

Last Spring Mr. Coleman was so pleased with the shipment of Jer- seys he acquired here that he placed this large order this year with Mr. Stead. They have been bought from the following Island breeders: Messrs. Fred Coles. Clark Brothers. Bruce MacDonald. Miller Henderson and Alex. Hen- derson. of New Wiltshire; George MacMillan. Cornwnll; Rev. Donald Nicholson. Brookfield; Emerson MacLeod, Glasgow Road; Dr. J. T. Lantz. Charlottetown, and Har- old Stead. Brackiey.

Mr. Coleman is known through- out the United States for his abil- ity to judge Jerseys. and his pur- chase of this second large ship- ment of island standard bred: is striking testimony to the superior quality of Prince Edward Island stock.

Her mlny friends were deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Margaret Garland to her heavenly home on March 25th in the Prince County Hospital after a short ill- ness. She was born in 1889. a dlughter of the late Mr. Ind Mu. Aeneas Murray of Albany. Her husband, Nicholas Gnrland. pre- deceased her over thirty-three years ago leaving I young daugh- ter. Although crushed by his un- timely passing she nobly carried on Ind educated her daughter.

She will be remembered for her many fine qualities of mind Ind heart and endeared herself to a wide circle of friends and ac- quaintances. It could be uid of her. "Beautiful toiler thy work is all done. beautiful soul into glory gone. beautiful life with its cross laid down. God glveth thee rest."

During her illness she was fre- quently vlsited by her pastor. Rev. Father MacLeod who administered the last rites of the Catholic Church of which she wns I de- vout member.

The death occurred at his home on Beaver Street. Summerclde, last evening of Mr. Harry Timon Holman, formerly president of R. T. Holman l..td.. Ind one of the most prominent business men In the province. He was in his 75th year.

Mr. Holman had been retired from active participation in busi- ness for the put five years Ind while his health had not been ro- bust he seemed well yesterday morning and buried himself about his lawn: and yard. it being a fine spring day.
