TUCSON (ZNS) - And you thought junk mail was dis- gusting. '

The U.S. postal service has told an Arizona tarantula dealer to stop shipping the furry crawlers through the mail.

Mickey Jacobsen, owner of Pet Ranch Imports, claims that tarantulas make terrific pets and are harmless.

The post office disagrees.

"Tarantulas are not mail- able,',_' says post office representative Gene Gardner. "I guarantee that if you get one crawling across a post office floor we'll have labour relations prdolems.“

Jacobsen says he'll sue if the post office doesn't change its mind. The reason: helhas 1,000 tarantulas in stock and another 2;000 on the way from Mexico.
