securing the payment of duties on goods, wares and merchandize of any kind whatsoever, shall bear interest on the amount thereof at the rate of six pounds per centum per annum, and such interest shall be computed and paid and payable from the d 1y of the date of such bond or recog- nizance until to payment thereof; provided always, that nothing in this or any other Act contaired shall be held or construed to entitle or give any person or persons any right or claim to a longer term of credit, for the amount of any bond or recognizance than the time therein men- tioned for the payment therof.

XXV. The warrant of attorney by law required to be taken by the Collector of Impost, in addi- tion to the recognizance directed to be entered into as security for the payment of duties of Impost and Excise, shall, as w«-ll as the defeasance there 11 to be erulorsed, be in the form of the

Schedule to this Act annexed marked (8.), or in such other form as the lieutenant Governor, ?

or other Administrator of the Government for the time being, in Council may, from time to time, direct.

XXVI. It shall be competent and lawful for any of Her Majesty’s Queen’s Counsel in this Island,when called upon so to do,in the absence or in the event of the incapacity from illness of the Attorney or Solicitor General, or when either of those offices shall be vacant, to sign all necessary declarations, pleas, bail pieces and other papers required to be signed, in order to enter up judgment in Her Majesty’s Supreme Court fofJudieature, on any warrant of attorney heretofore taken by Collectors of Impost and Excise, in addition to the rec directed to be taken as security for the p of duties of Impost and Excise, notwithstanding t that such warrant of attorney shall be directed to: the Attorney and Solicitor General only ; also to; issue execution on the same, to take all necessary steps to perfect execution, and to acknowledge satisfaction under any such circumstances as;

XXVII. All warrants of Attorney which have heretofore been taken by Collectors of lmpast and :ldxcise, in addition to the recognizance by law directed to be taken as security for payment of the duties of Impost and Excise, shall, notwith- standing that the samc shall not, in all eases, be found to have been strictly taken in :‘tCGDI‘tllli'tCO ,with the directions contained in the statutes in force respecting the same, or the taking or form iof such warrants of Attorney be well and deemed ‘ to be good and valid, and to be sutiicient to enable and authorize judgment to be entered up thereon in ller Majesty’s Supreme Court of Judicature, as of the term of the said Supreme Court in Queen’s ,County, next prece ling the date of catering up judgment or otherwise, as the ease may be, and execution to be issued thereon for the recovery of the amount purporting to be secured thereby and by the recognizance taken at the same time therewith.

XXVIII. Thetenth,twenty-fourth,forty—tourtli, fifty-third, fifty-fourth, sixty—first, sixty-scontl, sixty seventh, sixty—eighth, senventy—lifth and :e'ghty-first sections of the said hereinbefore :recited Act of the nineteenth Victoria, tihaptcr ’one, shall be out the same are hereby repealed. l XXIX.
