Mrs. Joseph Donovan vilzo has been ill at her home for a. few weeks was taken to the Charlottetown Hospital by ambulance last week where it is expected she will under- go an operation.

Mr. P. A. MacDonald who was taking a course in watch repairing in Moncton, for several months last summer and fall has received a call to one of the jewellery stores in the city.

Friends of Mr. Ralph Slnnoit will be sorry to learn he is still in the veterans wing of the P.E.I. Hospital and will no doubt be a patient for some time yet with a sore hand that was shattered during the war years 1h Italy.

Miss Teresa O'Brien, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Odrlen. has entered the Char- lottetown Hospital for treatment. She is reported suffering from a heart ailment. Her father is em- ployed in Halifax, NS.

Those who put up ice here for the summer report the ice very thin this winter especially on the river. some are considering leav- ing the cutting until next month but it is believed the season for heavy ice is gone for this year. M. .

Friends here and-in Summersidc will learn with regret of the seri- ous illness of Mrs. Joseph Ruchard at her home in Seal Harbor. N.B. Mrs. Richard was Evelyn Lapierre. before her marriage a few yefars ago. Her old home is in Bristol, where her mother and two sisters and two brothers reside.

His many old friends here learn with regret of the serious illness of Mr. John Conohan at his home in Sydney, N.S. Mr. Conohan has been ill for a long time and all are sorry to report his condition has become very serious. Mr. Conohan is married and has l2 children. Mr. Conohaifs old home is in Bristol, where his aged mother and two married sisters still reside.

The Morell hockey team put the welred spell on Holman! Indians here on Monday night last in a. game that was anything but excit- mg. The Indians failed to score while the Morell fast working team poured rubber into their net: to roll up e 22-0 count. The city team arrivedwvith a number of followers by special chartered bus and dupite their defeat they were a Jolly good bunch of sports. The many friends of Mr. Michael Dalton regret to learn that he ll I patient in the City Hospital as a result of an injury sustained by a horse on his farm here on Tues- day last. Mr. and Mrs. Dalton and two sons are newcomers to Lake, Verde, having mesided in Nova Scotia for the past number of years. they now occupy the heme formerly owned by Mr. and Mrs. Austin Jardine.

In the absence of the president. lvlrs. Horace Vessey led the meet- "i2. Meeting opened with call to wor- ship and singing hymn. "Silent Night. Holy Night". The theme for the meeting was "The Christian World at the Feet of Jesus Christ." The scripture readings were given by Mrs. Robert Chappell and Mrs. W. D. Cooke nnd were taken from Luke 224-16: Matthew 2:1, 2. 11. This was followed by hymn "An- gels From the Realms of Glory." The offering was taken and dedi- cnfed.
