Sept. 29 - The Neil Bennett Autumn Birding Classic fund raiser will be held. See article on page 4.

Sept. 30 - A Fall Nature Walk is scheduled for 2 pm at Macphail Woods. Please meet at the Nature Centre.

Oct. 2 - The Natural History Society's first regular meeting of the Autumn will be held. Kate MacQuarrie is our guest speaker with the "Plants of Prince Edward Island'. The meeting starts at 7:30 pm at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown.

Oct. 6 - The Provincial Forest Fall Frolic will be co-hosted by the P.E.I. Roadrunner's Club and the Department of Agriculture and Forestry's Natural Resource Division. This is a good opportunity to participate in the run (registration is at 9 am and the runs start at 10 am), enjoy the autumn colours, or to bird in the New Harmony Demonstration Woodlot. The registration fees are $10. There will be a barbecue after the run.

Oct. 10 - The Island Nature Trust will host a Winter Bird Feeding Clinic at the Farm Centre in Charlottetown starting at 7:30 pm. Dan McAskill will be the speaker.

Oct. 11 - The Island Nature Trust will host a Winter Bird Feeding Clinic at Eptek Centre in Summerside starting at 7:30 pm. Jackie Waddell will be the speaker.

Oct. 14 - A good day to enjoy an Introductory Birding Field Trip. Eric Marcum will lead the trip which will be done using a car pool of the participants. Participants are to meet at the Farm Centre on University Avenue. The field trip will depart at 8:00 am sharp and the trip will conclude at noon. Please register with Eric at 675—3056. Bring binoculars and a telescopes if you have them.

Nov. 3 - Island Nature Trust's Seeds of Conservation fund raiser. This bird food sale runs from 9 am to 2 pm at Farmer's Market, Eptek Centre. & Lorne MacDougall's. For more information, call Barb at 566-9150.

Nov. 6 - Dwaine Oakley will be the quest speaker at the Natural History Society's monthly meeting with the presentation "Preparing for Winter Birding on the Island'. The meeting starts at 7:30 pm at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown.

Dec. 4 - The meeting features Rachel Eedy who will be speaking on "The Influence of the Forest on the Stream". The meeting starts at 7:30 pm at the Farm Centre on University Avenue in Charlottetown.

Dec. 15 - P.E.I. National Park Audubon Chrlstmas Bird Count. There will be a pot-luck at lunch at the Dalvay Interpretive Centre. Field counters must pay a $5 registration fee while feeder watchers within the count area can participate free of charge.
