Tue steamer M. A. Starr, Capt. Ferguson, arrived from Halifax ria intermediate ports at five o'clock yesterday morning. She had the usual cargo of general merchandize, and Mr. Simon Fraser, Mrs. Fraser and Miss Fraser as passengers. The body of John McDonald was found floating in the water near Liverpool wharf. The deceased left home last night. At 2 o'clock he was seen going down towards Water Street. He has been melan- choly for some day’s over the illness of his sister with whom he lived and who is mo- mentarily expected to die.

Sr. Louis, Sept. 24. A railroad man named Wallace, was ar- rested here last night charged with murder- ing Mr. and Mrs. Matt Logan and their four children at Cuba, Mo., early Wednes- day morning. The murder was one of the most brutal ever committed in this State.
