Senator Emanuel Amobi stated that sure of Kevin's facts were ,wrong. There are two New Brunswick schools who are members of A.F.S., there is a need for a student Eganization because the issues and problems are still with us, and being members of A.F.S. does not stop us from dealing with the Provincial government since A.F.S. policy is not binding. A.F.S. ‘ is not the main student “ organization . Instead it is a’ _ g carplementary organiz— ation to all student councils and last of all, if we are not members of NUS (National Union of Students) then P.E.I. students will be isolated from the rest of Canada.

Next—on the agenda was: Personnel Board recommendations. The recommendations that were accepted by Council

One of the recommendations which was not accepted and was" sent back to the Personnel Board for further consideration was Brian Walsh as Speaker of the Student Union. Although it was felt that Brian would be a good Speaker, there was the fact to consider that Alan Hilton-x was Speaker last year and has been acting as interim Speaker this semester.

Council also rejected the Personnel Board recommendations that A Campus Police receive $3.50 an hour for working "wet" events. Instead of sending this recommendation back to

- the Personnel Board, the

Council discussed the matter and decided on a $4.00 per hour wage.

of the year to people who have worked on various student union sub-committees. Kevin Gauthier stated that "the spirit of honor- ariums has been lost somewhere along the way". John Neville moved that the Student Union end monetary honorariums and have a banquet and party at the end of

the year. "We should get more spirit into the thing instead of paying off in dollars and cents." Motion was passed.

Chris Short and Tan Clarke, plan on startin' g * a new Movie Club on campus. Shows are to be every Sunday evening at 7 and 9 P.M. starting on October 15th. A list of shows can be found else- where in this issue. The Student Union decided to support these students in their efforts to establish a movie club . and financial arrangements will be made between the club and John Neville, Student Union treasurer.
