CANADIAN NATURE FEDERAT10N REPORT

I attended the CNF Director's meeting, 29-30 May, in Ottawa as the Province's director. A wide variety of topics was discussed but perhaps the one that received the most attention was that of the identity of the CNF.

There are a number of organizations in Canada with similar sounding names or objectives. While each group may have interests in the environment, there is only one CNF with its own set of objectives and aspirations. Affiliated Societies and individual members are asked to "show the flag" whenever possible and to be certain that the Canadian Nature Federation is clearly identified by its name and objectives.

Plans for this summer's convention and annual meeting at Sackville, are progressing well and a good attendance is indicated. The theme - TIME and TIDE WAIT for YOU at ESTUARIES where the river meets the sea - will feature a number of very interesting field trips and well known speakers. If anyone would like or require a ride to Sackville, please get in touch with me in advance of the con- vention and I will try to arrange a drive for you to Mount Allison University which hosts the_convention.
