Deep Purple — The House Of Blue Light

Finally the group which rocked the U.S. and Canada throughout the 1970's has re- turned with this long awaited album. The first release off this LP, “Bad Attitude” is already receiving rave reviews. People have considered Deep Purple’s reunion as a cash-in on sentimentalism but’such is not the case with this powerful album. The first release “Bad Attitude” is a very good tune and entered Q-104’s single’s chart at number 20 in its first

week after being first released.

Another good song on the album is “The House” which can-be expanded upon in future albums. Other songs on the album include hot tunes like

“Hard-Lovin’ Woman”, “Un- written Law’, “Call Of The Wild”’, “Mitzi Dupree”, and “Spanish Archer”.

This album is a very good album with good lyrics and a powerful beat. Fans of Deep Purple are rejoicing at the re- turn of this former super-group and probably are Rockin’ In The Streets.

The main problem with this album is that it lacks staying power on the charts, as there are only a couple of bonafide hits. But I am sure that this album will still do very well despite this problem. Black- more, Glover, Paize, Gillen, and Lord (Deep Purple) have put together a solid album to mark

their return, and they won’t go unnoticed.

Out of a possible score of 10, I give Deep Purple — The House Of Blue Light a score of 7.

Macerollo and CFS would like to see UPEI students be. come more involved, and be aware that they can change the educational system as it stands. Macerollo feels that the lack of student action across the country is not due to apathy, but because “if people don’t perceive an ability on their part to change the situa- tion, because they can’t find the means to change it, or it looks too complicated, or they don’t feel they can do it all by themselves, then they live with the trouble.” The responsibil- ity of CFS, he says, is to iden- tify the channels, where stu- dents can make their concerns known, and that is what CFS student awareness week is all about.
