Orprxation —In St George’s Church, Grand River East, on Sunday September 19th, his Lordship Bishop McDonald will raise to the priesthood, Rev. D. J. McKin- non. now in deacon’s orders. Rev. Mr. McKinnon is a native of St. George's, being the son of Mr F. X. McKinnon, of Melrose. He finished his Theological studies in St. Mary’s Semivary, Baltimore in 1896, and during the past year has fol- lowed @ post graduate course in the Cath- olic University, Washington. He will be ordained for the archdiocese of San Fran- cisco. After his ordination he will return to the University for another year.

Aw Istanper Ixsvrep.—Mr. F. S. Bul- pitt, of Taylorsville, II].,was seriguely injur- ed last week. It appears that he was driv- ing @ horse which he had newly purchased. The horse ran away and in turning a street eorner Mr. Bulpitt was thrown out of the wagon, fracturing three ribs, rupturing ove of his lunga, and leing cut about the head. The injury to the lung caused the physicians the most anxiety, the patient veing able to breath only with very great } difficulty. Very little hopes were entertain- ed of Mr. Bulpitts recovery. Mr. Bulpitt is a native of Crapaud, and isa brother of Mrs. Edward Robertson, of Charlottetown aod of Mr. Thomas Bulpitt, of Roseneath, He was engaged in the furniture and un- dertaking business at Taylorsville.

The following from the Paisley and Renfrewshire Gazette, refers to a young Charlotietovian, a son of the Rev, Thomas Dundan and a nephew of the Mdsare. Hyndman: “On the afternoon of Wed- nesday, the 21st ult., the Rev. George D. Duncan, RB. D., lately assistant to the Rev. C. Goodall, Dron., was ordained and inducted minister of the Parish of Gien- devon, in succession to the Key. Dr. E. B. Speirs, some time ago translated to Morningside Parish, Edinburgh, as euc- cessor to Rev. Dr. M’Adam Muir, who was called to Glasgow Cathedral. There was a full attendance of mem- of the Presbytery of Auch- terarder, together with a depu- tation of friends from the neighbour- ing Presbytery of Perth. The Rev. Andrew Campbell, Crieff, preacher, and the Rev. John Hunter presided on the occasion. After the ordination, ‘the Presbytery and friends were entertained to dinner at the Tormankin Hotel. Ata social gathering in the eyening, the new minster was pre- sented by his congregation with pulpit robes and hood, together with pulpit Bible, psalm, and hymn books. Mr. Dun- can isason of the Rev. Dr. Duncan, Bridge of Weir. He was educated at Gias- gow High School , when he succeeded in carrying off the Paul gold medal in Greek awarded to the dux of the school. A- Glasgow University he gained an open ent trance scholarship of £100, In the Arts Clas-es he gained firet-class certificates in Latin, Greek, logic, moral philosophy, and byglish literature, and at the c'ose of his curriculum he took the degree of M. A. “with distinction ” in classical literature. In the Diviniiy Hall, Mr. Duncan carried off first prizes in ten of “his classes, and on two different occasions gained the Rae- Wilson gold medal for essays on theologi- cal subjects. In 1895 he gained his B. D, with honors, and was awarded the “ Black Fellowship” of £150, and in the rext session, as the result of his tellowship, he acted as assistant to Professor Hastie and Professos Storey in the University. On Sabbath last he was introduced to the good folks in Glendevon by the last na ned Professor.”
