-time aware 0f the opportun- ity afforeded them by the French Immersion Program offered every fall to get to grips with spoken French in a more concentrated way. The Modern Languages department, while it feels that this is the mast effective way to learn French, nenvertheless recognizes that some student because of the demands on their timetable made by the Subjects they are majoring, are unable to take advantage of course. With this in mind the department has experi- mented with a course this year which meets four times per week for a total of six semester hours, i.e. double the length of a regular cou— rse. This course has the same objective as the Immer- sion course, namely to im- prove one's spoken French. The department would like to make this comprimise course moer widely known in the community and would invited students who are not total beginners and who would be ; interested in investing two of their courses next sem- estre in French, to jion the course in January. Monday 3:15 - 4:40 pm, Tues, Wed., Fri, 10:30 — 12:05.
