Driver Found Negligent In Souris Man's Death
were thrown from the vehicle Dunphy. landed in a ditch, bleeding from facial cuts and in shock. Longarphie landed about 25 feet from the car. in a field. He was unconscious when eye- witnesses arrived. and a report from the Charlottetown Hospi- tal, to which he had been tak— en, said he never regained con- sciousness.
The pathologist’s report attri- buted Longaphie's death to brain bleeding and swelling. and a blood clot in the right lung. The hospital said he had had a dislocated hip, lacerated chin. fractured femur and ankle, and a possible fractured skull,
The RCMP officer who inves- tigated reported there were “bad ruts in the centre of the tea " at the spot where Dunphy had lost control of his vehicle.

Born at Caraquet. N.B.. where he received his early education, Mr. Lanteigne was a fisherman by trade. With his family he moved to Souris. P.E.I. in 1937 and to Cardigan North in 1939. In 1950 he moved to Lower Montague where he made his home until entering hospital a few weeks ago. where be under- went surgery last week.
Twice married. his first wife. the former Philomene Leger and a daughter Eva predeceas- ed h'm. Of this marriage two children survive. Camille of Cardigan and Priscilla (Mrs. Don Blanchard) of Leonminster. Mass.
