Another Spanish Disaster.
Havanna, July 8.—The Spanish cruiser Alfonso X11, which left this harbor, hed proceeded eight miles to the westward before being discovered by the American blockading +quadron.The later gave chase. The eruiser attempted to enter Meriel, but stranded at the entrance of the port. The enemy fired 500 shots at her until they set her on fire. Detachments of icfantry and
