Kings County Exhibition, 1884.

The Commissioners for this Exhibition ute having a neat and substantial fene: erected on the Square, immediately sur- rounding the Drill Shed at Georgetown, and we understand it is their intention to have the cattle show held on the space er d. This fence will be a great im- prvvement to the appearance of the town, and no doubt will prove of benefit to the finances of the Comunissioners, as all per- sons entering the gates will require to have an admission ticket before duing so.

His Honor the Lieutenant Governor has consented to open the Exhibition at one ocleck, p. m., and as it is the first time a native of King’s County has filled this hon- orable position, we hope to see one of the largest gatherings held for years in the County, thereby demonstrating that the people of that County approve of the ap- pointment of the Hon. A. A. Macdonald as Lieut. -Governor.

We understand that the Commissioners are intending to present an Address on the occasion; and no doubt the citizens of Georgetown will also signify their appre- ciation of the honor that has been done one of their fellow-townsmen.

Notes from Bull Creek. Farmers in this ave have finished their hay. The weather was very fine, con- sequently the hay was put up in a splendid condition.

All the farmers with the exception of one or two are busily engaged cutting their early barley, which is a splendid crop, far ahead of the average yield. Therefore we are on the look out fora long list of marriages in a few days.

Tramps are very plenty in the vicinity of M-Lean’s lobster factory. The English gunboat Zephyr was fired upon yesterday from the Kinpai forts. An fficer and a sailor were wounded. The Zephyr was mistaken for a French vessel of similar appearance. The British Admiral has demanded an explanation.
