Now in all candour we cannot bat think that an editor of a party newspaper like Mr. Pope would better consult his own interests’ if he fought his political battles in the press or on the floor of the Legislature, and did not take his grievances intua court of justice. Men who act this way are only likely to be put down by a sensible public as too much actuated by vindictiveness and malice. At the same time, we must in all fairness add
