After the open- ing hymn, "In Christ There is no East nor West". Mrs. Allison Mac- Lean conducted the worship serv- ice, giving a short meditation and offering prayer. She was assist- cd by Mrs. H. D. Thomas, who read the.scripture lesson. This was followed by silent prayer for the Korean missionaries. Mra. Horace Macliarlane was in charge of the study period. the topic be- ing "Our fellow Canadians from the Orient”. and painted a vivid picture of the problem of the Orientals in Canada. after which Mrs. C. D. Mathcson and Mrs. John Hopklrk, taking the parts of two Oriental women. enacted a short scene. Mrs. W. A. Tren- holmis account of Mrs. Montaier who designed the poster for the World Day of Prayer, was given by Mrs..MacI"arlane. Mrs. Mac- Lean read a letter written by Dr. Margaret Hockln. specialist in domestic. social and educational problems among the veiled women in Iraq. In reference to a lat- ter from the Temperance Feder- ation read by the president, it was decided to send the regular fee for corporate nlemberahlp in the Federation. The Summerside Mercurys de- feated the Summerside R. C. A. F. hockey team by the score of 8-7 in the 0'Leary rink last night before a large attendance of fans to take the best of three intermediate. semi-finals in two straight games. It was a fast penalty studded game with plenty of action from start to finish. There was a total of fifteen minor penalties. three major penalties and one match penalty throughout the game with each team collecting their share.

At the regular monthly meeting of the Summerside Board of Trade held last evening in the Town Hall with the President. Mr. A. S. Hop- klns, presiding. the members un- anlmously agreed to support Lilo stand of the people of Bedeque area to have the Borden-Bummer- side highway come through Cent- ral Bcdeque. The meeting was ad- dressed by representatives from Bedeque, Messrs. T. J. Inma.n. John Wright and Ralph Callbeck and they brought forcibly to the atten- tion of the Board the reasons why the road from Borden to Slimmer- side be continued along the route of the present highway to Central Bedeque and thence to Summer- side.

The Board unanimously passed a resolution that the Summerside Board of Trade strongly recommend that. the Summerside-Borden high- way. connecting with the Trans

The financial statement was presented by the treasurer. Com- rade F. Weeks and showed a bal- ance of 8400.00 following ex- penditure of 5174.00 on improve- ments to the club rooms. The building committee reported that plans were to have the club rooms redecorated, work to be. com- menced immediately, with the new color scheme to be decided on by the building committee.
