The death occurred suddenly at about 6 p. in. yesterday at his res- idence 168 Queen St.. of Mr. Arthur

E. Tomlins aged 59 well known commercial traveller and for the past 20 years a compete t and Val- ued employee of the Rogers Hard- ware Company of the city.

Mr. Tomllns. who covered the Is- iand for many years as a travelling salesman for P. W. Turner and Co. was well and favourably known among the business fraternity. with whom he had dealings. in every village and hamlet of the province.

Becoming suddenly ill as he was having his evening meal. he passed away before medical aid could be summoned.

Mr. Tomlins was a member of Saint John's Lodge AF. and A.M.. Aleandra Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Phllae Temple. Order of the Mystic shrine. Halifax. N. S

The only immediate surviving relative is Mr. R. N. Tomlins. re- tired baker. who lives in the city. The funeral notice will appear lat- Pl”.

Texas. where he will enter the Organ Institute. University. Mr. Player will spend the month of July in this University which is operated by such well known or- ganists as Power Biggs and Ern- est White. He intends to spend the month of August with his fam- ily at their Georgian Bay summer cottage before returning to resume his duties here.

Po- tato Marketing 'Board of which he is the manager. The Potato Dealers Association did not name a representative of their group as they postponed action for two weeks pending word of the decis- ion of the Supreme Court of Can- ada on the legal status of the Board.

The Festive Week programme for today's activities appears to be hand-picked for the young people starting with a Boy Scout and Wolf Clll)'Tl'llL'K'IIlEDt at Victoria Park, beginning at 10 a. m.

In the afternoon at 1.30 "Little Lerigiic" baseball will take over. but Big League names will be bandied about as familiarly as on the Nat- lonnl and International circuits. Teams taking part will be cheered and encouraged under the names.

Dodgers. Indians. Pirates. and Bravos. mid names not so well known such as Anchors, Rovers.

Royals. Monarchs and Eagles. will all have their followers.

At 6 p. m. the "wee Tots" will parade at the Forum with Doll Carriages. Tricycles and Pets. ac- companied no doubt by enthusias- tic adults who will enjoy the show just as much as the Kiddies do.

Mr. Jerry MacFine of this city was the big winner of the Junior Ciinmber of commerce raffle held Saturday night and went home with a total of eight gifts. The lucky numbers were drawn by Act- ing Mayor T. Roy Cudmore in front of the Library.

Three other holders of winning tickets were not present. to pick up their prizes. Thcir numbers appear in an advertisement elsewhere in today's Guardian.

The raffle was hold in support of 'the Sanitarium Radio Fund and other community projects which the Junior Chamber of Commerce sponsors. All the prizes were don- ated by busliiess houses of this city.
