The people of the parish have built up the doors and windows of his chapel, and de- clare that no priest but Father Conway shall officiate there. Dustin, Oct. 31. The pastoral of Archbishop McCabe was readin all the Cathelie churches of the Dublin diocese on Sunday, and created considerable sensation. Passages from the pastoral were printed last night, and de- monstrations against it, to be made to-day, were at once organized. At the pre Cath- edral one hundred and fifty young men rese at the moment when the priest began his references to the League, and drowned the speaker's voice in noisy demonstrations, which they made on leaving the buildiny. At Arronquay Chapel a similar incident escurred, and in other chapels dissenting neises aad gestures were made.

The following has been received by the Aneient and Honorable Artillery company of this city from the Honorable Artillery company of London, of which the Prince of Wales is commander :—

Resolved, Unanimously that the court ef assistants ef this company, at the first meet- ing since recess, desire to record their heart- felt sorrow at the death of General Garfield, President of the United States of America, and offer their comrades of the Ancient and Honerable Artillery company of Boston their deep sympathy they and the whole nation have sustained in being deprived of the services of a soldier so renowucd, a scholar se ripe,and a statesman so calculated to command the leve and respect of his own people and the admiratien ef all the civilized nations.
