Mr. Wright is a lifelong resl dent and was born in Summer- nide. His rte-election as APEC president is not unprecedented, as several other presidents have been elected to second terms in the past.

Mr. Wright is a charter mem- ber of APEC and was its vice- président for P.E.l. in 1958-60. He was elected president a year ago.
